Maik's mother is in rehab, his father joined his assistant on a business trip, and Maik will spend his summer holidays alone, lounging at the pool of his parents' villa. But suddenly Tschick shows up, and with him a stolen car. Maik and Tschick embark on a trip through the smoldering heat of the German backcountry – a journey without map or compass.
